Retracing the History and Success of Ram Trucks

    Last updated 18 days ago

No one makes strong, durable, and boldly styled pickups quite like Ram. Though Ram didn’t officially become its own brand until 2009, the Ram logo has been used by Dodge on-and-off since 1933. To see how Ram went from a hood ornament to an internationally recognized brand of pickup trucks, read this article.

    1917: First Dodge Pickup

The first production Dodge pickup, the Dodge Brother’s Commercial, was introduced back in 1917. With a 35-horsepower engine, this Dodge pickup was powerful for its time, and offered a 1,000-pound maximum payload capacity.

    1981: The First Ram Truck

The first pickup truck to officially bear the Ram name was the Dodge 150. Featuring a Ram head hood ornament, this truck was more advanced than others at the time. It boasted a significantly lighter weight than Dodge’s previous trucks, featured aggressive new styling, and a new air conditioning and heating system that improved overall efficiency.

    1994: Ram Renovation

Probably the biggest jolt to the legacy of Ram trucks was back in 1994, when the Ram truck lineup was completely redesigned. Ram trucks featured a massive grille, broad fenders, and a new engine lineup. This year Dodge also came out with reverse-opening rear doors that made it easy for loading passengers and cargo. Eight years later, Dodge added the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine to the lineup, drastically increasing towing and horsepower ratings.

    2013: Ram Revolution

Considered top picks in the pickup truck segment, Ram pickup trucks offer a wide range of advantages over the competition. With best-in-class 25 mpg highway fuel economy, outstanding resale value, and a five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, the recently upgraded Ram 1500 is a great value. Ram is also the 2013 North American Truck of the Year, and the 2013 Truck of Texas.

Inside MOPAR and the Capability It Brings to the Chrysler Group

    Last updated 25 days ago

Mopar, a Chrysler-Group brand of parts and accessories, is committed to taking performance to the next level. If you have a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or RAM vehicle, you can get Mopar parts or accessories to upgrade the performance and appearance of your vehicle. Keep reading to learn more about the history of Mopar and what today’s Mopar parts and accessories have to offer your vehicle.

    Mopar Legacy

Chrysler’s Mopar brand began way back in 1929 with the founding of Chrysler Motor Parts Corporation. Offering primarily high-quality replacement parts, Mopar was an immediate success. For decades, Americans loved buying Mopar parts because it was more economical to maintain or repair a car with these parts than it was to purchase a new car. By the 1980s, seeing the potential of the brand, Mopar began researching, testing, and producing performance parts.

    Mopar Parts and Accessories

Today, Mopar makes over 300,000 parts and accessories that are available for purchase at your local Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or Ram dealership. And with Mopar custom graphics (available at your local dealership), you can equip your Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, or Chrysler 300 with removable hood, decklid, and roof graphics made of high-quality 3M vinyl and laminate. Best of all, all Mopar parts and accessories are covered by a generous 12-month/12,000-mile warranty.

    Mopar Special Edition Dodge Dart

The brand-new Dodge Dart Mopar Edition is the latest offering from Mopar. This turbocharged Dodge Dart features Mopar exterior add-ons like black 18-inch aluminum wheels, blue racing stripes on the hood, a rear air diffuser, and a spoiler on both the front chin and deck lid. Performance-wise, the 2013 Dodge Dart Mopar boasts a sports-tuned exhaust, upgraded brakes, and a fine-tuned sports suspension. Even the interior comes with premium amenities, such as premium black leather and blue trim and a wireless charging pad for your smartphone.

To take a look at the Mopar parts and accessories that you can get with your car, come to Hayes Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Atlanta. We also have a wide range of new and used cars for you to choose from. Visit our website or call us at (770) 963-5251 for more information.
